Time to Blog
I wanted to start getting at least a post a day up on this blog, but I have not been getting up early enough in the morning to post. Like a diligent little blogger, I stayed up for a few minutes last night to get my Works-for-me Wednesday post done, so I could just publish it this morning.
Much to my shock and dismay, it’s Backwards Day! How did I miss that? That’s where people ask a question instead of giving a tip. On the bright side, I have my WFMW post for next week all done. On the down side, I have no post for today.
Or do I?
Hey, blogging mamas (and papas, and other blogger, too), how do you make time to blog?
While you’re at it, head on over to Rocks in My Dryer and help out some other bloggers at Works-for-me Wednesday Backwards Day.

I just stay up past my bedtime. I can only do it a couple nights a week though, or I get too grumpy.

I try to do that, but I swear, my brain shuts off once the clock hits 9:00 PM.

A great tip I read over at http://www.Problogger.net was to jot down anything throughout the day that you would want to post about on a notepad. Then sit down once a week and draft up a few post ahead of time for the days that you don’t have time to blog.
Of course, I havn’t done well at following this advice myself lately, LOL!

Blog in a notebook.
I “blog” twice a day. In the afternoon, the kids have their quiet time which usually means a movie until the baby falls asleep, then outside. I take 45 minutes to read my feed reader, answer comments, etc.
After bedtime, I post. But I am also a night owl. My brain would be fried if I tried to do it in the AM.

by notebook, I meant the paper kind…but now I see someone else mentioned that!

I write my posts the day before. Sometimes I’ll write a couple in one day so I’ll have a spare. Then in the morning I can take time to go over the post and make corrections before I post. This way I’m not rushed, and my posts make a lot more sense, and are much better quality. Works for me!

My oldest son’s bus comes at 6:15, and the we start homeschool at 9 am so I find time in between for my blogging (among the breakfast making/diaper changing/laundry starting).
I read blogs also during those slow school times while I’m waiting for the kids to finish their worksheet, etc. - when I have to be present in the schoolroom but am not needed. And I read blogs while nursing, the best nursing chair in the house is the computer chair because it has arms!

I get up at 5:30 when my husband leaves for work–I blog from then until the first kiddo wakes (around 8.) If I’m going to post that day, I do that first, then read my email and respond to comments. If I’ve gotten my cleaning duties done for the day I’ll use naptime to read blogs.

Ditto pp’s - I will open up MS Word and type it out there. Then later when I have time, post it.
Sometimes I don’t do that, but then again, I am a night owl and can’t sleep til DH is home from work….
