I like this idea! It seems that it would use a lot less energy than the way I do it. Right now, I just set the oven (it's electric) on the lowest possible setting, which is 170 degrees. Then I put the dough in there for an hour. But to just heat it up to temp and only leave it on for a minute would save about 50 minutes of electricity. I'm definitely giving this a try! Thanks!

OOOOHH I'm jealous. I wish the nights were getting cooler here. Our days are still in the 90's and only by early morning are we in the 60's. I'll have to remember that for the cooler months ahead.

I put the bowl of dough right into the warm oven. I guess I could have made that clearer!

This is so helpful! We live in a very cold state and have an extremely draft house. Thank you for the great tip! Do you put the bowl directly on the stovetop, or just nearby?

I've been known to make bread while doing the laundry and then put the bowl of dough in the dryer with the warm clothes for 20 mins, it works well.

I'll try it your way though, because "Love bread, hate laundry".

Thanks.
